Education is important to Rumpke. The following educational activities may be helpful in learning more about landfills and recycling. These can be used for large or small groups and various grade levels.

Create an edible landfill. This project demonstrates landfill construction by using food.

Rumpke partnered with the King Arts Complex, Solid Waste Authority of Central Ohio (SWACO) and Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) to create two games that teach and promote recycling. Follow the link below to the Amazing Recyclotron Game.

The Amazing Recyclotron Game

Rumpke developed a landfill diagram that portrays a typical Rumpke landfill. Each landfill is slightly different, but this is a good basis for understanding landfills.
