Louisville Bats and Rumpke Will “Clean Up” for Kids

LOUISVILLE, Ky.—April 8, 2011— The Louisville Bats and Rumpke will partner this season on a
“Clean Team for Kids” to benefit Kosair Children’s Hospital through the Children’s Hospital
Foundation.

Rumpke will donate $100 to the Foundation for every run batted‐in by the Bats’ clean‐up hitter at
Louisville Slugger Field. Last year, the partnership raised $5,000.

The public is encouraged to join the team by texting “BALLOON” to 90999, which generates a $5
personal donation directly to Kosair Children’s Hospital.

“We are looking forward to another great season with the Bats and hope our partnership will also
generate awareness for fundraising of the Children’s Hospital,” said Rumpke Vice President Mike
Nelson.

Rumpke employs about 140 people in the Louisville area and provides trash, recycling and portable restroom services. Rumpke serviced Louisville Slugger Field since the stadium opened in 2000.

Rumpke Consolidated Companies, Inc. has been keeping neighborhoods and businesses clean and green since 1932 by providing environment friendly waste disposal solutions. Rumpke is one of the nation’s largest privately owned residential and commercial waste and recycling firms, providing service to areas of Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio and West Virginia. Rumpke divisions include Rumpke Recycling, Rumpke Portable Restrooms, The William‐Thomas Group, and Rumpke Hydraulics. For more information, visit www.rumpke.com.

Kosair Children’s Hospital serves more than 120,000 children annually from throughout Kentucky
and Southern Indiana, and is Kentucky’s only full‐service, free‐standing pediatric hospital. As a
regional facility that treats all children regardless of the family’s ability to pay, the hospital relies on support from the community. The Children’s Hospital Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Kosair Children’s Hospital and raises millions of dollars each year to support programs, equipment and facilities, research, advocacy and education. The Children’s Hospital Foundation raised $11 million to support the hospital in 2010. For more information, visit HelpKosairChildrensHospital.com or call (502) 629‐8060.
