Rumpke Opens Recycling Buy-Back Center

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio – April 9, 2012 – Rumpke will officially open its new Mount Vernon Recycling Buy-Back Center on Monday, April 23, 2012 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Rumpke will pay cash for recyclables, including aluminum cans, scrap metals, newspaper and cardboard. The site is located at 301 Columbus Road in Mt. Vernon. Its hours of operation will be Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon.

The first week will include a special payback for aluminum cans at 80 cents per pound, valid from April 23-28. A ribbon cutting is scheduled April 23 at 8:30 a.m.

“The Mount Vernon and Knox County community embraces recycling, and we are excited to add this buy-back feature to our facility,” said Andrew Rumpke, vice president at Rumpke.

The buy-back center will be a covered drive-thru. Customers will drive into the building, get their items weighed and receive cash for the recyclables. Rumpke will maintain the drop-off containers at the site for other recyclables.
