duPont Manual Student Earns Rumpke Recycling Scholarship

LOUISVILLE, Ky.—June 25, 2014— Recent duPont Manual High School graduate Jubilee Park earned the Rumpke Recycling Scholarship for her commitment to environmental protection and sustainability.

 

“As an environmental engineer, I want to prioritize the environmental issues that are constantly being put on hold.” Park wrote in an essay. “My dream is not only to make a positive impact on the environment, but also to improve public health by creating ways to reduce air and water pollution in developing countries.”

 

President of the school Women in Science and Engineering club, Park was also in the Environmental Club, Spanish National Honor Society, and National Honor Society. She plans to attend the University of Georgia in the fall.

 

Since 2009, the Rumpke Recycling scholarship has been presented annually to one graduating Jefferson County student.
