CINCINNATI – June 7, 2016 -- Rumpke Commercial Driver Rick Patterson has been named Driver of the Year by the National Waste & Recycling Association. 
Patterson, a resident of Shandon, Ohio, was selected for this national award for his safe driving record and commitment to providing his customers with top-notch service.
Patterson collects trash dumpsters from Rumpke customers in Fairfield, Ohio. He has gone nearly his whole career accident free, an impressive task for logging 100 miles per day behind the wheel to service 120 boxes in tight corrals and congested parking lots.
“Our drivers are the backbone of Rumpke. They provide our customers with the first and often only impression of our company. For more than 29 years, Rickie Patterson has provided our commercial customers with a positive lasting impression of our family business,” said Jeff Rumpke, regional vice president, Rumpke.
NWRA annually recognizes 10 drivers. One each for the following categories

Patterson is the winner for the regional commercial. Rumpke also had 14 semi-finalist in this year's competition. Patterson will accept his award next month at the industry trade show in Las Vegas.
