Rumpke Partners with the City of Norwood on Storm Clean-up

CINCINNATI- August 31, 2106 –Rumpke Waste & Recycling will provide extra service to City of Norwood residents this week to assist with clean-up efforts.

“We understand the daunting task many of our customers have ahead of them as they clean-up from Sunday’s storm,” said Dean Ferrier, municipal representative, Rumpke. “Rumpke is happy to employ its expertise to partner with the City to help make the clean-up process a bit easier.”

This week, Rumpke will send additional trucks through Norwood to collect flood-damaged items. Rumpke will begin with Monday customers tomorrow morning and will continue to work through all customers this week.

All Norwood residents are encouraged to place all items for disposal at the curb Wednesday evening and leave the items there until a Rumpke truck arrives. Items placed in the alley will not be collected. Residents should follow these guidelines:

Wood must be cut in lengths smaller than 4 feet

  • Dry wall must be double-bagged or in a can
  • Bags/cans must weigh 50 pounds or less
  • Mattresses/box springs should be folded in half and tied with rope or string
  • Carpet must be rolled and tied in sections no longer than 4 feet

As a reminder, Rumpke will not accept any of the following items:

  • Hazardous material
  • Liquids (including paint)
  • Tires
  • Items containing Freon
