Rumpke strives to protect and preserve the environment on a daily basis. Every year, Rumpke appreciates the opportunity to participate in Earth Day events throughout the spring. This year, we were represented at more than 50 events in Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana and West Virginia.

From information booths to guest appearances by our mascot Binny, we took great strides in raising awareness about the importance of recycling and environmental sustainability.

Green Guardian Pledge At most events, attendees were asked to take the official Green Guardian pledge to reduce their waste and increase their recycling efforts. More than 2,000 took the pledge, and the number continues to grow.

Higher Education Rumpke visited several colleges and universities for Earth Day events, including:

• Marshall University
• Northern Kentucky University
• Shawnee State University
• Sinclair Community College
• University of Cincinnati

Healthcare Many healthcare organizations hosted Earth Day events, and Rumpke visited:

• Christ Hospital in Cincinnati
• Cleveland Clinic
• Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus
• Margaret Mary Hospital in Batesville, Ind.
