Rumpke: 10th Largest Waste Services Firm in US

The small waste and recycling company founded by William Rumpke has come a long way since 1932. According to a list of the 100 Top Industry Players published by Waste Age, Rumpke Consolidated Companies, Inc., is the 10th largest waste and recycling firm in North America.

Developed by Waste Age, a trade publication for professionals in the waste and recycling industry, the 100 Top Industry Players determines the largest waste services firms in the industry. These rankings are based off of financial information provided in annual reports, online and via survey. Rumpke came in 10th, with revenue of $496.7 million in 2011 and projected revenue of $497 million for 2012. This is the first time in Rumpke’s history that it has made the Top 10 largest companies; last year it ranked 12th.

Rumpke Consolidated provides service in four states (Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, and West Virginia), operating nine landfills and 10 recycling facilities. It is now one of the largest privately held waste and recycling firms in the country, ranking third among other haulers. Despite its significant growth over 80 years, Rumpke has remained a family owned and operated business committed to providing excellent customer service.
