LOUISVILLE, Ky.—July 11, 2012—The small waste and recycling company founded by William Rumpke in 1932 has become one of North America’s largest waste firms.
According to a list of the 100 Top Industry Players published by Waste Age, Rumpke Consolidated Companies, Inc., is 10th largest waste and recycling firm in North America. The firm employs 140 people in the Louisville area and provides waste and recycling services as well as portable restrooms.
Developed by Waste Age, a trade publication for professionals in the waste and recycling industry, the 100 Top Industry Players determines the largest waste services firms in the industry. These rankings are based off of financial information provided in annual reports, online, and via survey. Rumpke came in 10th, with revenue of $496.7 million in 2011 and projected revenue of $497 million for 2012. This is the first time in Rumpke’s history that it has made the Top 10 largest companies; last year it ranked 12th.
The family-owned company is one of the largest privately held waste and recycling firms in the nation, ranking third among other haulers.
