Recycling Service Not Impacted by Fire

ST. BERNARD, Ohio—April 11, 2012—Rumpke Recycling service for customers in Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky will occur as scheduled without interruption.

A fire broke out at the Rumpke Recycling facility in St. Bernard, Ohio, around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. Firefighters from multiple departments responded to the scene at 5535 Vine St. All seven employees in the facility safely exited the building without injury.

Collected recyclables will be re-directed other area recycling facilities. No collection vehicles were impacted by the fire.

“We appreciate the quick response from the area fire departments,” said Amanda Pratt, director of communications at Rumpke. “We are fortunate that no employees were injured, and we would like our customers to know that service will continue without interruption.”

The exact cause of the fire, along with the extent of the damage, has not been determined. Rumpke will work with the authorities to conduct a complete investigation of the incident.
