Rumpke to Host Career Fair for Driving Positions

CINCINNATI – March 29, 2017 – Rumpke Waste & Recycling is hosting a job fair, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday, April 4 at its Colerain Township Vehicle Maintenance Center located at 3700 Struble Rd. to promote its driver training program and fill immediate driver and mechanic positions.

At the event, attendees can meet members of management, current employees and learn about pay, medical and retirement benefits and opportunities to advance into a variety of positions at Rumpke.

Attendees can also participate in informational sessions about Rumpke’s Professional Driver Training Program, where motivated individuals earn a paycheck while receiving one-on-one instruction and hands on training to earn a Class B Commercial Driver’s License.

“There is an increasing demand for CDL drivers,” said Mollie Bentley, recruiting manager, Rumpke. “It’s our goal to find and train hard-working individuals who want a meaningful career in a stable industry and unlike many CDL training programs which cost money, Rumpke’s driver trainee program is a paid position.”

To qualify for Rumpke’s Driver Training Program, individuals must meet the following qualifications:

  • Possess a valid driver’s license
  • Pass a DOT physical examination
  • Read, write and speak English
  • Be drug-free and agree to drug testing
  • Be at least 21 years of age
  • Pass a required entrance examination

Individuals interested in Rumpke’s driver training program can visit the April 4 career fair or visit Rumpke Careers and complete an application for driver trainee.

Driver and mechanic applicants are encouraged to stop by the career fair and visit our Careers page for a complete list of career opportunities and qualifications. Rumpke’s YouTube channel, RumpkeCleanAndGreen, also features short videos about what it is like to work at Rumpke.

“Rumpke is a family company, and we want our team members to build a career with us,” Bentley said. “Many of our employees have worked with us for 10 or 20 years. Quite a few started as drivers and have earned promotions to other roles within our company.”
