Boy Scouts Honor Rumpke Waste and Recycling

CINCINNATI – May 15, 2017—The Dan Beard Council, Boy Scouts of America honored Rumpke Waste & Recycling with their Good Turn Award at their 29th Annual West Side Sports Breakfast May 11 at Wunderland Banquet Center in Colerain Township, Ohio.

Regional Vice President Jeff Rumpke accepted the award on Rumpke’s behalf. “Over the years, Rumpke has hosted hundreds of scouts for landfill and recycling tours, and we are grateful for the opportunity and interaction. The commitment the scouts demonstrate toward values and education is outstanding,” said Jeff Rumpke.

“Rumpke greatly appreciates this recognition. We share a mission with the boy scouts. We both strive to improve our communities. Rumpke is fortunate to collaborate with the Dan Beard Council and boy scouts everywhere,” added Rumpke.

The Boy Scout slogan is “Do a Good Turn Daily.” Good turns are acts of kindness. Some are big such as saving a life, others are small such as helping a child cross the street. The Good Turn Award recognizes an organization or individual for actions that improve communities or help others.

More than 200 guests attended this year’s West Side Sports breakfast where additional awards were distributed for volunteerism and dedication to scouting. The event also featured a presentation about the Cincinnati FC Soccer team, from Jeff Berding, Cincinnati FC Soccer team president and general manager.
