A Driver & His Biggest Fan

On June 6, Rumpke Residential Driver Joe King picked up trash as usual from the Taylor family in Ashland County, Ohio. Also as usual, Joe honked the horn for his biggest fan Keegan Taylor, son of Derek and Niki.

But this day was special because Joe was heading out of town for vacation the following week. He left a note for Keegan that read:

“Dear lil Buddy, let me know if the driver next week doesn’t toot the horn for ya. I’m going on vacation.”

Niki Taylor posted about the interaction on Facebook.

When Joe caught wind, he went above and beyond and delivered a toy trash truck to Keegan. While Joe makes 300 to 350 stops a day, he clearly recognizes that each stop is a chance to make a difference.
