GEORGETOWN, Ohio – July 11, 2013 – Monroe Township has entered into a new partnership with Rumpke.
The township recently entered a contract with Rumpke, making the company the exclusive waste and recycling service provider for all township residents.
Monroe Township residents will receive weekly waste collection and monthly recycling collection, as well as the use of Rumpke waste and recycling containers. In addition, Rumpke will collect one large item from Monroe Township residents, once a month, at no additional charge. Collection will occur on the residence’s scheduled trash day, during the first week of each month, beginning the week of Aug. 5. Residents should contact Rumpke at 1-877-786-7537, prior to the scheduled collection day, if participating.
Last month, Rumpke delivered a 96-gallon trash cart to each residence, at no additional cost. All trash must be placed weekly at the curb inside the provided cart. Items placed at the curb in other containers or in bags will not be collected. A second cart is available at no additional cost. Residents that are unable to participate in the trash cart program because of disabilities or other barriers are encouraged to contact Rumpke at 1-877-786-7537 to learn about additional options.
In addition to weekly trash collection, Rumpke will also collect recycling from township residents monthly, at no additional cost. Recycling will be collected the first Friday of each month, with the first collection scheduled for Aug. 2. To participate, residents must contact Rumpke at 1-877-786-7537 and request a recycling cart.
Rumpke accepts a variety of common household items in its recycling program, including:
• Plastic bottles and jugs (no lids)
• Glass bottles and jars (any color)
• Aluminum cans
• Steel cans
• Cardboard (please cut or fold into a size that fits into recycling container)
• Paperboard (like cereal or cracker boxes)
• Office paper and envelopes
• Newspaper and magazines
• Junk mail
