Residential Garbage Services in Butler FAQs:

How do I schedule bulk trash removal, such as for moving or renovations?

Rumpke offers several options for disposing of large items, including curbside collection, open top dumpster rental or drop off at our local landfill. You can easily make an appointment online for bulk trash removal, including for large items such as mattresses, furniture, and appliances.

For curbside pickup, just make sure to contact us at least 48 hours before your regularly scheduled collection to let us know what you will be disposing of. A few notes:

  • We cannot do curbside pickups of televisions larger than 32 inches.

  • Mattresses and upholstered furniture must be completely sealed in disposable plastic for removal.

You can also drop items off at the local landfill. Free Day at the Landfill is the second Saturday of each month from 7 to 11 a.m. for Pendleton County Rumpke customers and residents of Butler and Falmouth. You can also drop off any white goods free of charge at the landfill anytime during normal business hours, including but not limited to:

  • Water heaters

  • Stoves

  • Microwaves

  • Clothes washers

  • Clothes dryers

  • Refrigerators and freezers

  • Window air conditioning units

We’re located off of KY-17, next to the animal shelter.

  • Batteries

  • Tires

  • Fluorescent light bulbs

  • Paint

  • Antifreeze

  • Combustible materials like gasoline and used motor oil

  • Any other items identified with “Danger” or “Poison”, including pool chemicals, insecticides, and some cleaning supplies
