Ben Ryan (age 5) wants to be a garbage man when he grows up.

To give Ben the best birthday party ever, his mom contacted Rumpke.

Ben and his friends had a “trash bash” including a visit to their local Rumpke facility in Louisville, Ky. They were able to peek inside the recycling plant, check out a garbage truck, and learn about different jobs at Rumpke.

Our team at Rumpke includes some of the best truck drivers in the U.S., as well as engineers, mechanics, customer service professionals and environmental experts. We hope Ben will maintain his enthusiasm for the waste and recycling industry.

Ben’s birthday was both fun and educational. The kids learned about what happens to the trash they throw away, and what happens to the stuff they recycle (such as paper, plastic bottles, etc.). Rumpke offers printable activity sheets, videos and other educational resources.
