Hours of Operation: 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Also, Open from  8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on the second Saturday of each month. 

Covering 353 acres, the Montgomery County landfill has been in good hands since Rumpke purchased it in 1898. Ever since, we’ve been dedicated to providing valuable local trash services and recycling services for residents of Montgomery County, including the communities of Camargo, Jeffersonville, Judy, Levee, and Mount Sterling

Located on Larison Road in Jeffersonville, we’re just a short drive from the Bert T. Combs Expressway.

What materials are not accepted at the landfill?

Federal, state, and Montgomery County laws prohibit the Montgomery County Landfill from accepting hazardous waste, lead acid batteries, whole tires, medical/infectious/biohazard waste, appliances containing refrigerant, pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers, radioactive waste, and fluorescent lamps and ballasts. 

Can I drop off construction waste at the Montgomery County landfill?

Yes, individuals and construction crews can drop off waste at the landfill. Rumpke also offers dumpster rentals to accommodate your renovation and trash disposal needs.

Directions to the Rumpke Montgomery County, KY Landfill

From Mount Sterling

Follow KY Route 11 south out of Mt. Sterling. About 1 mile past KY Route 646, take a right on Orear Road. Follow Orear for 1 mile, and turn right on Larison Road. Our facility will be on the right.

From Jeffersonville

Take KY Route 213 south from US-460. Bear right onto Welch Road, then continue right onto KY Route 646. Turn left on KY Route 11. After about 1 mile, take a right on Orear Road. Follow Orear for 1 mile, and turn right on Larison Road. Our facility will be on the right.

Rumpke accepts many forms of payment including MasterCard, Visa, Debit, Cash, Check.

Will someone be available to help me unload my trash?

The landfill is open 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. If you stop by the landfill during business hours, our crew will be available to help you.

Are there any vehicle restrictions at the landfill?

Semi-trucks are only allowed from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. Monday through Saturday. No other restrictions.

Are there free dump days at the Montgomery County landfill?

No.
