Residential Garbage Removal Near Georgetown FAQs:

How do I dispose of large items like furniture, mattresses and appliances for disposal?

If you would like to have larger items picked up curbside, make sure to let us know at least 48 hours before your regularly scheduled collection. A few notes:

  • We cannot do curbside pickups of televisions larger than 32 inches.

  • Mattresses and upholstered furniture must be completely sealed in disposable plastic for removal.

If you have several large items that you are discarding as part of a garage, basement or attic cleanout, you might consider a dumpster rental.

Finally, you can also bring items to our location here at our transfer station.

Additional fees may apply.

Do you offer household hazardous waste disposal?

Per federal law, Rumpke cannot accept hazardous materials including:

  • Paint

  • Batteries

  • Fluorescent light bulbs

  • Antifreeze

  • Freon

  • Combustible materials like gasoline and used motor oil

  • Any other items identified with “Danger” or “Poison”, including pool chemicals, insecticides, and some cleaning supplies

  • Tires

The best way to dispose of such items is to use them up as intended. But you should never throw them out in the trash or down the drain. This is not just harmful to the environment, but can also cause dumpster and trash truck fires.

Contact your local solid waste district for disposal options. You may be able to find local community events that collect items such as tires and electronic waste (a.k.a. e-waste, which includes old computers, devices, power supplies, and chargers). National retailers such as Best Buy and The Home Depot accept old batteries, and auto parts retailers often accept used motor oil.

How do I schedule bulk trash removal, such as for moving or renovations?

When you’re planning a large-scale project like a renovation or attic clean-out, we recommend you take advantage of our dumpster service. With an open-top container, you can discard large volumes of junk from spring cleaning or a home remodel or landscaping project. Our dumpster sizes range from 15 to 40 cubic yards. Call us ahead of time, so we can determine the best dumpster for you, as well as advise you of any items that may or may not be accepted at the landfill.

What is the price for your garbage collection services?

How do I schedule garbage service?

Start by filling out our service request form online. Once you’ve indicated what sort of trash and garbage removal you’re in need of, we’ll work with you to find the right pricing and waste pickup schedule for you.

How do I find my trash pickup schedule?

You’ll be assigned a once-a-week curbside trash and recycling pickup day when you register for our services. Holiday schedules may vary, so check with us online to see how you might be affected.

How do I get recycling?

Rumpke’s recycling center generally accepts the following items for recycling:

  • Plastic bottles and jugs

  • Glass bottles and jars

  • Aluminum cans

  • Steel cans and lids

  • Paperboard (like cereal boxes)

  • Cardboard

  • Office paper

  • Envelopes and junk mail

  • Newspapers, magazines and inserts

  • Telephone books and catalogs

We rely on single-stream recycling,  which makes recycling easy for you since you can avoid the hassle of separating out your different recyclables. Place all materials in the same container for pickup and we’ll sort them at the recycling center. It’s also great for us and the environment since easy recycling motivates more households to recycle!
