Local Garbage Truck Driver Considered for National Award

COLUMBUS, Ind.—Nov. 5, 2012— Local garbage truck driver Wendell Allen is one of the best in the business.

 

For the third time in his career, Allen has been nominated for the Environmental Industries Associations (EIA) Driver of the Year Award. Allen has collected trash for residents of Bartholomew County for 24 years, and hasn’t had a single accident in 18.

Allen and 13 other Rumpke drivers are candidates for the national award, which will be decided in the spring of 2013.
