Schedule Change for City of Columbus Recycling & Yard Waste

City of Columbus Free Collection Day Reminders

COLUMBUS, Ohio - March 3, 2014 - Beginning this weeks of March 3 to 7 and March 10 to 14, City of Columbus recycling and yard waste collections will occur on the same day every two weeks. The collection day for residents will not change, but the week of collection may shift during the two week transition.

Prior to the change, recycling and yard waste collection occurred on alternating weeks. The City and Rumpke collaborated to combine the services on the same day, while maintaining the every-other-week collection schedule.

Residents received a postcard with notification of the change, which included a 12-month calendar of collection days for their specific address. Notification stickers were also placed on blue recycling carts during January and February to announce the change.

Residents can use the new free Collection Day Reminder service to receive reminders about their trash, recycling and yard waste collection days. Residents choose their reminder option, including email, phone call or Twitter alert, and they can print or download a calendar. The Collection Day Reminder and more information about recycling in Columbus are available at www.RecycleColumbus.org.
