Garbage Man Day is June 17

DAYTON, Ohio—June 12, 2014— Early mornings, long days and extreme weather are just a few of the challenges waste and recycling truck drivers face on a daily basis. Next week, Rumpke is celebrating National Garbage Man Day to thank the men and women who keep our neighborhoods clean and green.

“Our drivers do an important job every day, in all weather conditions,” said Regional Vice President Mike Bramkamp. “This is a day to let them know how much we appreciate their hard work and dedication.”

The public is invited to print a thank you card to leave for a driver, or mail to Rumpke at 1932 E. Monument Avenue, Dayton Ohio 45402. Contact us for any questions or feel free to leave feedback!

National Garbage Man Day began in 2013 to raise awareness for sanitation industry workers.

Rumpke employs more than 200 people in the Dayton area. Company-wide, Rumpke employs more than 2,600 people and more than 1,000 drivers in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. Interested in being a garbage man? Check out Rumpke Careers for openings!
